Have you ever thought about that those habits in your life that you would love to change or those things that make life feel pretty much unenjoyable, well I have?
I bet we all know by now that life is full of the good and bad combo mix that just makes it amazing but they are still certain things that are done out of habit that kind of deprives us of enjoying our life and we all need to make that changes. As for me, I want to live my life to it's fullest, enjoying every moment of it because I realized that this life I'm living is just a one time opportunity and I won't get the chance to live it twice *even if I love to*. Enjoying my life every day is a major priority for me.
But let's go back to those habits we do.
You may or may not be aware of it but those habits just make life boring, unenjoyable, and frustrating to the point you can even start regretting the fact that you are alive. And that's sad.
I like to refer to those habits as a life-sucking monster because they just sap the joy and happiness from your life and if living a happy fun-filled life is on your to-do list then you'll have to change some certain habits in your life.
Yeah I know you might be thinking "change is not all that easy", I completely get it but as I usually tell people if you wanna make life-changing habits you don't need to think about the big steps just focus on taking the simple small steps like appreciate those little things you take for granted, being more grateful for what you have or even just having a smiley face that can lights up a room.
So what can I change from my life? Personally, I gave this question a lot of thought and realized that I too had some unhealthy habits in my life * like who doesn't* and not to sound too dramatic but working on them definitely added a little more sparkle in my life. I'm going to share them with you guys and hopefully, you can be encouraged to make those changes too.
My idea of beauty.
For me, I see beauty as an illusion that is made up in our minds, and most time we struggle to work on or even change that part of us we consider a flaw *but honestly, that's not healthy*.
Changing my idea of beauty really did wonders in my life, it helped in boosting my confidence, appreciating and loving all of me * I even start crushing on my reflection on the mirror*
So instead of trying to change those long arms, fat face, skin complexion, big body and all your supposed imperfections that you think you want to get rid of in order to feel pretty change the idea of beauty that you have build up in your mind because all those flaws are actually unique qualities that makes you special. *Probably this is not the first time you have heard this but it's true*.
Being unsatisfied in my life(not being grateful).
I've not really considered the good things in life, I basically squander my time thinking on that thing I thought I needed and if I don't get them, frustration and depression starts to kick in *and that wasn't healthy*
Being grateful is an amazing self-filling emotion we all need to have.
Even if life hasn't turned out exactly the way I've planned but I know for sure life has given me so many things for me to be grateful for and I believe it has for you It might be your family, your kid, your job, the ability to walk or even your perfect set of teeth whatever it is its best to appreciate them and be grateful for what you have and stop beating yourself for things you don't have.
Doing this helped me to see my life in a whole new way and most importantly it taught me to love and appreciate my life.
*Being grateful is really a life-changing habit*.
Stop blaming myself for things I can't change.
This habit was something I really needed to work on in my life because I was just pulling myself down into serious depression.
When we were all young we definitely had this perfect dream of how we want our life to turn out * I know I did* but getting older reality sets in and you realized life is full of disappointing, unplanned situation that you just can't change, and all we can do is to accept that fact and change our outlook on life. *Everything in life is not rosy*.
Beating or blaming myself about things I can't change in my life was only making it difficult for me to enjoy your life so I had to stop and just trust that in the end, everything will definitely work out for me.
Living in fear.
For me fear is only an obstacle that stands in the way of me enjoying my life, it's simply a product of thoughts I created in my mind. *fear doesn't exist anywhere except in your mind*
Fear is not something you can just magically wish could just disappear, it's something you have to face and a feeling you have to conquer and if you don't you will only get stuck in it and it will prevent you from living the life you were meant to live. *believe me you deserve so much out of life*.
My life was full of fear I was afraid of literally everything. One of my greatest fear was voicing out my thoughts and opinions, I've always felt if I did I will end up being criticized or mocked by other so keeping my mouth shut was the best option for me * I had a very shy personality* and that wasn't healthy.
I had to face my fears and believe me once I did I was able to take back my own power of self-confidence and it made it easier for me to choose to live my life exactly the way I want to.
So if you have something you want to do but feel afraid it's might not be easy at first but start little by taking baby steps toward your plan and do it afraid *that's just an easy way to conquer that feeling*.
My Impatient personality.
Patience is sometimes a challenge speaking from personal experience I really struggled with patience *it was a big challenge for me*. Having to wait for something was intolerable and just frustrating, I love and expect things to happen at the exact time I want it to.
Honestly, patience is not that easy to attain especially in this present era where everything just seems to be running in a fast lane but when you have it, you be able to see it's a very essential quality in life because it makes one become more empathetic and peaceful. You basically be able to make a rational decision with a clearer mind.
Very little self-love (depending on others' love).
For me, Self-love is definitely the best habit I had to develop and it has been a fantastic journey in life and I hope everyone gets to enjoy it.
When you love yourself, like truly love and accept yourself you will be able to embrace the power to not only enjoy but live your life to it's fullest.
I had to accept that in my life the most important person is ME *not being selfish but that true*. I had to practice more self-acceptance, self-forgiveness, and patience, and when I did I realized that self-love was the secret to my own happiness.
You definitely don't need someone to make you feel complete just have to make self-love a priority and trust me you won't regret it.
I honestly have to say I'm really grateful I got to realized those life-draining habits at the right time in my life and I was so committed in changing them because enjoying my life is definitely a top priority in my life.
You too can live your life to the fullest just ask yourself this question what are those habits I need to get rid of in order to change my life? And once you realize those joy wrecking habits work on them gradually and I ensure you, you won't regret your decision.
